Ok, so far too long and my plan of updating this every few days went totally out the window.
So where to start…
Well work is now back in Manchester which is very very good, enjoying being back there, does mean alot less traveling for me which is always a plus, and nice new offices to go with it. The downside I am always very busy and shattered by the time I get home.
My holiday to rhodes went great (and seems like ages ago now) got a little sunburnt but thats only because I am fair skinned. But can’t complain about the weather 35 degrees Celsius every day (and sometimes hotter then that) but 29 degrees at night so sleeping was hard. It was alot of fun and was a nice break from work (week and a half woot!) not sure where it will be next year… or if I could afford it.
My “get fit” plan closely followed the updating this blog out of the window, I keep getting determined to start properly but then I just… well don’t… although at the moment I am eating a lot healther.
I do have two new things which I love in my life. For starters a new guitar an Adam Black electro acoustic guitar which was a little expensive but totally worth it, it sounds so nice and I have wanted an acoustic guitar for ages, so happy I’ve got one now. Also last week after three weeks of waiting my nice shiny new Apple MacBook arrived, for years I have been using PC’s and windows but now I prefer using macs, they just work so much better and the trackpad on the MacBook is amazing, to use a trackpad on a normal pc laptop which doesnt allow two finger scroll etc is just frustrating.
ok so that was brief to say the least but I have caught up, kinda

not updated in a while… again! and its looking like most of the time I post general me and my life stuff, I write it on the train to and from work. Currently on the way into work where I shall spend today alone as the other 3 people in my office are out all day so apart from maybe the odd person coming in to ask where they are, no one, nade, zilch. Was quite looking forward to it as I can sit there listen to my ipod and get on with things but today its kinda hit me… it’s going to suck.
Been having more ideas to have more blogs about chosen subjects, like one for games and another for cars/motorsports just so this blog is kept to one thing and one thing only… my life. It all really depends on how much I can keep them updated, my time at home is very short now although the weeks are flying by (is it really thursday already!) but it means that I can get closer to my holiday which I booked last week to Rhodes in September. Really looking forward to that especilly because it means I get to spend a whole week with Lou who I hardly get to see anymore (which also sucks) but she is trying to get a job up here… really hope she does. Especilly since its her birthday next month and also we will have been together for 4 years then and its looking like we wont get to see each other.
Right, time for me to get off the train and go to work. *sigh*

I have just read from the announcement on the Autosport site that the Silverstone will host it’s final British Grand Prix next year and will be replaced with Donnington in 2010 due to lack of govenment funding.
This now means that the work done to Silverstone of moving the position of the pits, soemthing that was being done to secure Silverstone’s place in the future of F1, will only be used for a year by F1.
And now more money (£100 million) has to be spent on Donnington to improve its facilities as right now Donnington is no where near an “F1 circuit”. I would also say that the circuit itself isn’t the best for F1, especilly when compared to Silverstone (which drivers have praised for its variety of corners). So will the layout of the circuit be changed?
The way I see it is Bernie Ecclestone doesn’t see things like you or I.. all he see’s is big wads of cash everywhere.
I just hope I’m wrong about it all
*UPDATE*
OK so when I wrote this I was forgetting that the British GP used to be held at Donnington (the last one was in 1993). But still I think the current facilities at donnington are not upto the modern ways of Formula One. Just have to see what happens with the £100 million.

Dammit… why is it when you plan to get loads of things done after work you don’t leave till late… miss your usual train by about 10 seconds and then the next train departs from a different platform which was unannounced… I hate trains so much, not as much as buses (which I will be traveling on in about half an hour… more fun) but yeah… I hate them.
Doesn’t really help when I spend 4 hours a day getting to and from work using public transport, I cannot wait for the move back into the centre of Manchester when my journey time will be halved… and hopefully almost none if/when I get a place in the centre. That reminds me. The paper has apartments lsited today. I shouldn’t really look as I can’t afford it yet and the current situation of the market is so rubbish in the UK.
Ahh the usual drunk beer/piss smelling guy has got on the train… theres always one.
Finally got round to listening to the “new” himynameismark podcast… I say new, it actually came out in April but after recent computer problems I lost my podcasts and only recently subscribed to them again. I do like the himynamismark podcast, hosted by the fantastic Mark Hoppus of Blink 182/+44 a personal fav cool guy for me as especilly in high school Blink was my favourite band (and still are) and when I got my first guitar I learnt loads of Blink songs. It is a shame what happened with Blink 182 but I’m glad +44 spawned from it with Mark and Travis… and to be honest I cannot listen to angels and airwaves and hopefully will never hear one of their songs, I was saddened to hear of his side of the break up, I liked Tom DeLonge alot but after that… well dislike is probably the only word to use… I could be totally wrong about it, I don’t know exactly what happened but its just from what I have read. And you never know… Blink 182 may reform one day.
Looks like its going to rain soon… and this morning it was very sunny so I dont have a coat with me and im in a short sleeved shirt… crap.
*UPDATE*
ok so I wrote that on the train into Manchester. since then I got to the bus station, found that the bus to where I want to go wont be leaving till 8 which was 2 hours away so I got on the nearst bus I could get and then a connecting bus… but when I got there… no bus for ages too… so in the end I got a taxi… where I had to tell the guy where to go because he had no idea… at least now im home

I and now millions of others around the world downloaded the demo of the Spore Creature Creator to have an early see what it’s like.
After all… we have been waiting years!
So what do I think of it. Well after a long discussion with a friend of “just what do you do?”… “its a bit like the sims right?” and”what DO you do?!?” it turns out… not alot. Where The Sims had goals, you watched them grow, controlled their lives, and killed them in pools, Spore seems to be a big Tamagotchi… but with less features.
Ok so I’ve only played the demo… which has 25% of the full creature creator content, but I had a good read of the “What is Spore” section of the Spore site and it turns out you create your creature.. and then they live in a world of other creatures where it eats and fights with the others. The way the site describes it makes you feel confused and you may think that it could get boring very quickly
But once you start creating your creature you do start having fun the actuall creator is very well done. You start off with the body where you can see the spine which you can make to whatever shape you want. Then you can go about adding a mouth or mouth’s… eyes… ears… arms and legs basically whatever you want… what it to be tall.. you can… really short… that too… its a great and pretty powerful creator, I do quite like it alot.
Now I know I only played the demo and the full “game” isn’t released until september, but after a couple of creatures created last night I did get a little bored… maybe it was my lack of imagination or the fact there isn’t many things to put on your creature… but I started thinking again how pointless the full game could be once its released.
But on my way home from work today I decided to load up spore on the train home and created my 4th creature… and whilst doing so found new ways of changing the mouth shape… and i managed to get the spine in a more horizontal position… and the fun was back!
I think it will be interesting to see just what the full game is like, being able to constuct more creatures and buildings, vehicles and spaceships for them… dont know why you can… but I’m sure we will see in september.
Will Wright… looks like you sold another copy
p.s. ill post picture of my creatures soon

As I write this I’m curently sat on a train heading back home after spending a couple of nights seeing friends on Middlesbrough. Had a really good time and so glad I took Janets offer of her spare room instead of a sleeping bag on Daves floor.
Sadly though, and I’m quite ashamed of myself for this weekend is quite a big one for motorsport fans which I am… I have totally ignored the Le Man 24 hour race which happened this weekend, sure I read pretty much everything autosport.com posted about it but the actual race? The biggest race of the year? Missed it
Well thats not entirely true as it is still happening now, but I have no internet access and by the time I get home it will be over. Oh well maybe I will actually go see it next year (which is a very good plan). Unless it’s on the same weekend as the Download festival which also happened this weekend (clearly I miss everything) something else that would be good to go to.
But I need money first and theres many other things that I could use the money for, like an apartment, this week as I read the paper I found it had a housing insert with many apartments in for £400-£600 a month (kinda my price range) which isn’t too bad especilly since some come fully furnished for that price and in a pretty good area of Manchester, and really if I have to get the bus or tram into manchester then that all adds up which could be money for rent. And it would take me ALOT less time to get to and from work, an hour+ journey cut down to a few minutes.
I don’t know, been home a year and after seeing my friends who have their own place, I really want that. I miss my freedom and my independance, and there is just more to see and do in Mancheseter. SO maybe, in six months, I’ll move out, that could be a good New Years thing start 2009 in a new place… maybe something to aim for.

Just reading through some Le Man articles, mostly on autosport but found one on the BBC site with an article about how Audi and Peugeot now dominate the race using diesel powered cars and in the future diesel hybrids may be used. you can see it here.
But what got my attention was the choice of picture the BBC decided to use to put to a quote by Marc Boque of PSA Peugeot Citroen.

Clearly whoever had the job to find a sutibe picture was pressed for time but to put this picture to a quote is a bad mistake. hey must have realised that it is a picture of a accident damaged Peugeot LMP-1 car being loaded onto the back of a truck to be taken back to the pits. You can clearly see thet the bodywork around the front left wheel is missing.
I would imagine the picture will be changed at some point during the day, but until then… enjoy the mistake!

should really be getting some sleep right now, but all I can think about is traveling up to middlesbrough tomorrow to see my good friends that I made at university, miss those guys and its been far too long since I saw them but for 2 night’s I plan on making it like I never left!
Staying up there until Sunday, which is Fathers day.. tried to buy him a bottle of Famous Dad but sadly the supermarket where I went had either sold out or just not put any out, just the normal Famous Grouse.
so yeah.. a new post when I get back
